We planted our bean seeds in a special planter, and talked about what we might see growing first – roots or shoots? We also talked about the possible reasons behind our thinking.
Jennifer said “I think that the roots will grow first because the plant needs the water to grow.”
Anthony said “I think that the roots will grow first because the plant needs to eat the dirt.”
Charlotte thought that the roots and shoots would grow at the same time, while Caidan thought the roots had to grow first so that the plant wouldn’t fall over.
