Today we investigated what would happen when we mixed a base and an acid. We mixed citric acid and bicarbonate of soda with some icing sugar. When we mixed the powders together and put it in our mouth it reacted by fizzing. It tasted sweet and sour. We decided the mixture was very much like sherbet.
