We learnt lots about our local marine environment when we visited Goat Island Marine reserve. It was the first marine reserve in New Zealand and has been around for 40 years. There were all sorts of interesting animals in the touch tank that we were able to pick up and look at closely.

Very informative trip.
Thanks parent helpers for using your time and effort.
I’ve got to admit is was a fun trip and we learned a lot about Goat Island and the sea life. It was packed with people. that’s right I am supposed to be talking about our trip. I liked when we got to do the square meter in the rock pool. We had to look for the animals we found a look in our group.
Snappers live for 60 years thats cool and lobster are cool too and people eat fish. We should make more marine reserves. and not eat fish too.
I liked how you put facts in your story.
Kina can live up to 5 years old and that is their full age.
We learnt a lot about sea life at the marine reserve. We got to see the largest crayfish. Did you know that there are 40 marine reserves in New Zealand. That is a real lot just in our small country.
It was awesome and lots of fun
