Last week my class and I went to the recycle centre. It was in Auckland and we’re in Tomarata. So, it’s pretty far away. But I was sitting by Ryan so it was a good bus ride. Room 4 also came but they didn’t annoy Room 5’s.
When we finally got to the recycle centre we saw all of these buildings with heaps of stuff like plastic, metal, clothes and other stuff too. But then we saw two big huge, giant piles with big machines. One of the piles was just wood and the other was trees, grass and lawn clippings.
The bus stopped and parked. Me, Ryan, my class and Room 4 got out of the bus with our bags of course. I was so excited. We walked into a building that looks like a classroom. We got inside and put our bags down where a lady told us to. Then we went out in the recycled garden!! They had one of those bikes that does not move and when you went on it it powered a fountain which had a tap on the top. It would turn on when yo went on the bike. The water would fall through pots and pans and then it would fill up two yellow watering cans. It was an interesting visit.
That was really cool to see and go to. It was really fun.
Ahh… the Recycle centre, it stunk. But we learned a lot. Well, I did at least – so that was good. When we got to go on the bus it was really big and flash, I really liked it.
