On Friday Room’s 1,2, and 3 went to the Rodney College Marae. We were met by two students and taken down to the Marae. We were welcomed on and Awatea from R3 led us on. We took off our shoes and entered the Marae, sitting on the right as we were the visitors. After a welcome and a Waiata from the College, Maasi and Sam from R3 did their Mihis and we sang two Waiatas. Following this we had morning tea and then divided into groups for the activities.
It was a fantastic morning and an experience we will all remember. The Rodney College students and their teacher were amazing and did a superb job. A big thank you to Michele Nahi for organising this event with us.
