Today we had an information and training session with Shelley from Wai care to discover how healthy our local lake is in readiness for our field trip. We learnt how to test for water clarity, the ph level and the oxygen level and how to take the temperature of the water. These conditions are all important for the health of the lake and the creatures that live in it. We are looking forward to finding the results and planning actions we can take to improve our lake environment. Shelley is going to bring the equipment we need to carry out the tests.
