It is World Environment Day today and we had an interesting visit from Raquelle from Algalita. Algalita is a research organization which focuses on plastic pollution and its impacts on marine life and ecosystems. The Founder and Research Director, Captain Charles Moore, was the first to discover the swirling soup of plastic debris in the Pacific’s north eastern gyre – known by many as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. We enjoyed sifting through the sand to find the sorts of rubbish that is on our beaches.
