This month Room 5 celebrated the Tanabata Star festival with Mrs Williams. It takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month. We shared rice balls rolled in sesame seeds and we made wishes to hang on a bamboo branch. It is the custom to make three wishes- one for yourself, one for your family and one for the community. Our wishes were: Shiawase ni naru you ni (I wish you happiness) or Heiwa ni naru you ni (I wish you peace) or Genki ni naru you ni (I wish you health)
