ABOUT US
Welcome to the Tomarata Fireworks! What began as a small, sparkly gathering two decades ago has now exploded into one of the region’s must-see events. Imagine nearly 5,000 people from all over – Warkworth, Wellsford, Mangawhai, Matakana, Kaiwaka, and Maungaturoto – coming together for a night of epic fireworks and family fun.
Our star of the show? Tomarata School, a charming little rural school near Wellsford. Established in 1934, the school boasts a rich history and a strong sense of community. With a diverse group of 70 students, supportive staff, and a caring whanau community, Tomarata School thrives in its beautiful rural setting. Our whakatauki, “Poipoia te kakano kia puawai” (Nurture the seed and it will blossom), reflects our commitment to nurturing students and fostering their growth.
Thanks to past events, we’ve been able to purchase a school van, computers and iPads, implement literacy programs, and so much more! Your support has truly made a world of difference. This year, we plan to make our playground even cooler and more accessible for kids of all ages—imagine more laughs, more fun, and a lot more playtime magic!
A huge shoutout to our amazing volunteers, generous sponsors, and everyone who comes out to enjoy the show. You’re the real MVPs, helping us hit our fundraising goals and making every year better than the last. Thanks for being part of the Tomarata Fireworks family!
